Paulien Dresscher

Paulien Dresscher is Head of the New Media Department and curator of the MediaLab at Cinekid in Amsterdam.


Dresscher holds a Bachelor degree of Media and Fine Arts from ABK Minerva Academy in Groningen, as well as both Masters in New Media and Research Masters in Media Studies from the University of Amsterdam. She is advisor at the Creative Industrie Fund in Rotterdam, Dutch Cultural Media Fund in Amsterdam and the Flanders Audiovisual Fund in Brussels. Paulien Dresscher lives on a sailing ship in the centre of Amsterdam with her husband and daughter.

About Cinekid

The Cinekid Festival is the largest international film, television and new media festival for children aged 4 to 14 held at the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

The new media part of the festival consists of the 1200 m2 MediaLab and enhances media literacy through the creation of a unique opportunity for kids, alongside their parents, professionals and decision makers, to discover the array of new possibilities in image culture, art and media convergence in a hands-on and playful manner.This digital playground and experimental garden with over the 40 games, installations and workshops, invites the visitor to discover, experiment, observe and be amazed.

Each year the festival is attended by over 50.000 children, parents and (international) guests.
