Ronald Wright

Historian, novelist, and essayist Ronald Wright is the award-winning author of nine books published around the world in 16 languages.

 

His books include the 2004 international bestseller A Short History of Progress (Kleine geschiedenis van de vooruitgang, Cossee 2006), which inspired Martin Scorsese's recent documentary film Surviving Progress, shown at the IDFA, Amsterdam, in 2011 (see survivingprogress.com).  Among his other books are the histories Stolen Continents and What is America?, and the dystopian novel A Scientific Romance.

Born in England, Wright lives in British Columbia, Canada.
